PPM dog leash rope is lightweight with a slightly rougher texture that gives a good grip in the hand. It is known for its excellent strength, which makes it a popular material for dog leashes, collars and matching sets.
PPM floats and is resistant to water and moisture, making it a practical choice for dogs that swim regularly. It does not respond as well to UV rays as some of our other rope materials, so it is worth keeping a finished leash out of prolonged direct sunlight to avoid premature fading.
Sizes and specifications
Our PPM dog leash rope is sold per metre in three diameters: 6mm, 8mm and 10mm, typically 32-strand, 40-strand and 48-strand respectively. Every diameter is available in both solid colours and multicolour designs.
PPM, nylon or rPET?
PPM is the most water-practical of the three rope materials we offer, since it floats and resists moisture well, though it holds up less well under prolonged sun exposure. Nylon has a softer, smoother handfeel but does not float and can shrink slightly when wet. rPET is made from recycled polyester and resists UV rays better than PPM, though it does not float either. The choice mostly comes down to feel, water exposure, sun exposure and material preference.
